Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC)
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether obtained by cellulose alkalization, etherification, neutralization and washing. HPMC has good thickening, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming properties, etc.It is the first choice for production of high quality building materials additives.
HPMC water retention mechanism
HPMC is a polymer material with a three-dimensional network structure. There are many hydroxyl groups on the cross-linked network structure. The hydroxyl groups are hydrophilic groups. When it comes into contact with water, the hydrophilic groups will interact with water molecules. Combines into hydrogen bonds and absorbs large amounts of water through chemical adsorption.
Properties of HPMC
To meet the needs of environmental protection, Our product with high water retention, dispersion, good fineness, good work ability, easy dissolution characteristics. It is widely used in building base materials. It has good water retention and improve the workability. It can also prolong the open time and improve sag resistence.
