Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether obtained by cellulose alkalization, etherification, neutralization and washing. HPMC has good thickening, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming properties, etc. It is the first choice for production of high quality building materials additives.
In daily chemical or detergent applications, the HPMC powder is mainly used for thickening, foaming, stable emulsification, dispersion, adhesion, film formation and water retention of cosmetics. High viscosity products are used for thickening, and low viscosity products are mainly used for suspension dispersion and film formation.
The addition of redispersible emulsion powder (VAE/RDP)to the mortar can increase the cohesion, cohesion and flexibility of the mortar. First, it can improve the water retention of the mortar, form a film, and reduce the evaporation of water. Second, it can improve the bond strength of mortar.
Construction grade HPMC properties:
1. Thickening: Cellulose can thicken to suspend, keep the solution uniform and consistent, and resist sagging.
2. Water retention: Make the putty powder dry slowly, and assist the reaction of lime calcium under the action of water.
3. Easy Construction: Cellulose has a lubricating effect, which can make the putty powder have good workability.
